The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm by Carol M., club Treasurer.
Old Business: there was none.
October 16 & 17 campout at Golden Shores, Long Beach. Carol M. announced that there are 4 signed up to attend. She will release the hold she has on the other 6 sites unless she hears now that anyone else would like to attend.
November 6 & 7 campout at Flying Flags, Buellton. There are 10 signed up to attend. The kitchen and community room will probably not be available for our use. The staff at Flying Flags mentioned to Carol that other large groups have purchased an additional site and used it as their kitchen and eating area. Carol said she will check with FF about the possibility of gaining permission to use the large grassy open area as our kitchen, eating and meeting area. She asked for those of us that have pop up shelters to bring them in case needed due to wet weather. Carol asked the groups’ opinion about catering the whole meal for Saturday night. Jim B. said he would look into the cost of all food being catered.
Treasurer’s Report:
Carol stated that currently the club’s balance is $6,600. With the remaining reservations and campouts still needing to be paid the club’s balance should be near $2,800 by year end.
George S. brought up that he would like to host Pechanga in April next year. He recommended that if we went mid-week rather than a weekend, and if we used Passport America ($40 annual cost) we could save money. He proposed we attend the week following Easter 2021, Sunday through Wednesday, returning home Thursday. He will investigate this and report back to the club.
