The meeting was called to order at 9:22 am by Jess G., Club President. Jess asked if anyone had any comments on last month’s meeting minutes, they were briefly reviewed and approved by all.
Old business: nothing
New business: Carol M., Treasurer, passed out the most recent campout schedule. There are 8 rigs signed up and paid for our next campout, March 20 & 21 at Bakersfield RV Resort. Carol said she would contact Bakersfield and see if they are willing to allow us to use the club house as we do not have enough campers for this to be automatically reserved for us. If this will not be granted to us, she will request 3 tables delivered to site for meeting and meals. She will advise the wagon masters of her findings.
April 17 & 18, Pechenga. Reservations on your own. There are 10 confirmed for this campout.
May 1 & 2, Paso Robles. Money for this campout is due to Carol by March 1.
June 2, 3, & 4, Morro Bay. There are 2 paid/confirmed and 3 pending for this trip. Money is due April 1.
July is Dark
August currently is undetermined. Carol asked for suggestions. Flora mentioned Tecachapi. There is a festival there that month. She will investigate and report back to the club. There is water and electric but no dumping. Flora also mentioned as a future consideration for the month of June, the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo. There are no services for this, dry camping.
Jess asked everyone’s opinion about the Tapo site. All agreed they enjoyed it and would like to return.
Carol reported the club’s account balance is currently at approximately $4,200. After subtracting pending expenses, the balance will be at approximately $2,500. Carol suggested that when the account balance reaches $3,000. we reevaluate and see if fees/dues need to be adjusted in the future.
Tom H. stated that to be a member of a club dues need to be paid.
Carol asked if we agreed in dropping Rick & Pam F. from the club. There has been no response from them, and the 2019 dues were not paid.
Carol requested that everyone please pay attention to deadline dates on future campouts and respond in a timely manner advising whether you plan on attending or not.
Les H. asked if the club would consider another location for November other than Flying Flags, that he is not happy there because of the noise and crowd issue. Carol explained that we have already paid a large deposit to be there this November. Les said he’d be happy to refund the club the deposit fee if another location could be found. It was suggested that we can possibly look elsewhere for 2021.
Rex L. followed by all members thanked Carol for hosting this trip’s campout.
Martine G. asked Renee & Todd A. if they had anymore information regarding future campouts on military bases. Renee explained that it is difficult for a large group. A veteran can bring in with them 1, possibly 2 people, and that some military representatives are more willing, others are not, in how many guests they will allow on base.
Jess & Martine will go to Kenney Grove Park in Filmore to investigate it as a possible future campout location and report back to the club.
September 11 & 12, Snowberry Loop, Big Bear. It was discovered that our original date of 9/4 & 5 will fall on Labor Day Weekend. It was agreed that we do not want to be there that weekend. The date was changed to one week later, 9/11 & 12. Carol said that we need to make our own reservations for this campout, and that she will remind us again in the future that we need to sign up on 6/13 if we are interested in attending.
Jess advised we need Wagon Masters. Les said that he & Celia are considering doing so for Morro Bay in June.
Flora asked how to handle guests in the future, when does a guest become a member? It was discussed and Carol suggested that someone attending one time annually qualifies as a guest. Someone attending multiple trips annually should become a member. There was no objection to this.
Tom stated that he and Karen enjoy this club very much, even though they are not year-round residents, when they are home, they enjoy campouts with this club.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:55 am.
