Valencia Travel Village
The meeting was called to order by our new President Ben M. Those in attendance were:
Ben and Helene M
Tom and Karen H
Rex and Flora L
Bill and Diane G
Ron and Iris S
Dave and Lynne H
Jim and Jan B
George B
Sue O
Minutes of November meeting were amended (to not publish website password in minutes, but rather to inform the officers of the password) and approved.
Thank you Ben for creating our new website! It is wonderful and informative. It is called weakendersrvclub.com. The treasurer will cancel further payment (from Credit Union) for old website.
The president is looking for places, such as Ventura Acorn, to publish our next campout, and get the information about our club out to more people.
Vicki S. is recovering nicely from knee surgery.
No reservations were available for Refugio for July. We may leave July dark.
We considered possibly camping at Pt. Mugu in July. Jim B. will look into whether it is feasible and what would be involved.
In answer to a question, Camp Comfort fee (6/6-6/8) is $93.
February will be Ventura KOA. We have the clubhouse for Saturday dinner. For Sunday breakfast, we will participate in Ventura KOA’s pancake breakfast, at $6 per person, instead of our usual potluck breakfast. Time of breakfast will be announced later.
We paused to welcome our newer members, Jan and Jim B, as well as Sue O.
We decided to camp at Travel Village again next January. Ron will arrange.
Dave H proposed we drop the club’s $10 charge per campout, in light of having a balance in excess of $7000. He moved we drop the $10 charge until the treasury drops below $5000, and then consider whether to reinstate the charge. Motion Carried.
A roster was passed around for us to update our info. When updating is completed, it will be re-issued.
We are asked to plan ahead, at least three months ahead, for our campouts. Please let George S. know either way, in writing or email, whether you will or will not attend. Also pay attention to “cancel by” date on the schedule.
Display your Weakenders flag! It helps bring in more campers.
Bill G. is encouraging us to “cross pollinate” with Komfort Kruisers, and presented us with a joint schedule of outings. He notes that “towables” may now be associate members.
George B. says February will be Italian Night. He and Margaret will provide Lasagna. He took signups for salads, veggies, desserts.
Rex and Flora volunteered to be Wagonmasters for March @ Casitas.
Adjourned at 3:20.
Karen H. Secretary
We look forward to the next outing at Ventura Ranch KOA
