Flora welcomed Margaret B. and Sam M. who came to join us for dinner.
Old business: there was none.
New business: Rex and Flora L. brought up the Elks Rodeo that will take place in Santa Maria beginning May 31st, ending June 3rd. The cost is $220. per rig. The cost covers a four day stay, two or three dinners and breakfasts are included and a one-day pass to the Rodeo. Weakenders can be placed together as a group. This will be dry camping. There will be honey dippers available for service if needed. You do not have to be an Elk to attend (but it helps). There will be a shuttle going back and forth between the campground and Rodeo. Anyone interested in attending can contact Rex or Flora L. for more information. If you are interested in attending, you must book by next month and the deadline to get your money in is April 1.
A discussion began about possible future camping sites for the group. Suggested was Rancho Jurupa Park in Riverside. Lake for fishing, nice sites, near The Mission Inn. George S. mentioned that going in early December could be a possibility.
Carol M. brought up Newport Dunes in March. Ben & Helene M. will be Wagon Masters. We have reserved 10 sites but have only 7 paid, committed campers attending. If you're interested in attending notify Carol M. immediately, otherwise she will give up the extra sites to the Elks. If you're interested in additional days, contact Newport Dunes to make those arrangements.
Pechanga in April, Carol M. asked if anyone else was interested in attending. Tom H. asked if the group will be held responsible for unused sites, Ben M. said no. Linda N. said she will not be attending in April.
Carol M. announced that our annual dues are due to her by June. She also mentioned that Wagon Masters are needed beginning June through September, the rest of the year is covered.
A question came up about where Pacific Dunes Ranch is located, our August camp out site at Pismo Beach. Answer, about two miles from Pismo Sands where the group has stayed in the past.
Rex & Flora L. will be staying at Pismo Sands, they made their reservations last year. Tom and Karen H. have reservations there too. Karen stated that she does not care for camping at Pacific Dunes Ranch, there is not enough shade and it is dusty.
Tom H. announced that it was not his fault Karen H. had only one lens in her glasses. She recently had cataract surgery and is happy with her improved vision in that eye, so she's doing one eye at a time.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:40 P.M.
